Alumni and notable academics of the University of Cambridge

Throughout its history, a considerable number of Cambridge students have become notable in their fields, both academic, and in the rest of the world. Depending on criteria, affiliates of the University of Cambridge have won between 85 and 88 Nobel prizes, more than any other institution according to some aspects. Former students of the University have won a total of 61 Nobel prizes, 13 more than any other university students. Cambridge academics have also won 8 Fields Medals and 2 Abel Prizes (since the award was first distributed in 2003).
