Internationally, Harvard is ranked third in both the QS World University Rankings and best annual World Universities by U.S. News & World Report in 2012. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings of the same academic year considered to be fourth in the list. But in his world ranking reputation, based on a survey of academics around the world and is a spin-off of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Harvard is still the first place. When the QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings were published in society as the Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings, Harvard was watched continuously as the best community college between 2004 and 2009. The institute also has topped the table Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), a position held since the first ARWU rankings were released in 2003.

Harvard undergraduate program ranked first among "National Universities" by U.S. News & World Report and sixth by Forbes. The university is ranked 11th nationally by The Washington Monthly.

In the Global 200 Business Schools 2009 QS, Harvard was ranked first in North America.
In 2012, Harvard ranked first in a ranking University Academic Performance (URAP).
